Data Protection Act Information Notice

This text has been prepared in accordance with Article 10 of the Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 (KVKK), for the purpose of informing visitors to this website.

Data controller

The data controller for the website is the website administrator, whose details are provided at the bottom of the website and on the contact page .

What data do we process?

• Contact form: your first name, surname, email address or telephone number, and your message.
• Guestbook: your name, your location (optional) and your message (if approved, this will be published on the website for everyone to see).
• Noticeboard: the name, telephone number, description and photograph in your advert (published publicly in the advert with your consent; removed after 30 days, or you can remove it at any time using the link provided to you).
• Village Directory: your name, place of residence and any other information you provide, only with your explicit consent; your telephone number will also be visible if you give your consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time via the link provided or by writing to us; your entry will be removed immediately. The directory is not indexed by search engines.
• Technical records: when you submit a form, post a message in the guestbook or place an advert, your IP address, date and time, and browser details (as required by Law No. 5651; not displayed on the site).
• Control panel users: first name, surname, email address, login records and actions performed.

No adverts, visitor tracking or third-party analytics tools are used on the site. The visitor counter and site statistics do not use cookies and do not store personally identifiable information: only aggregate figures such as “how many people visited today, which pages were viewed, and from which province connections were made” are recorded. Approximate province information is determined from the IP address at that moment; the IP address is not stored.

For what purpose and on what legal basis?

• To be able to respond to your message — Article 5(2)(f) of the KVKK (legitimate interest) and to fulfil your request.
• To fulfil the record-keeping obligations under Law No. 5651 — Article 5(2)(ç) of the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK): legal obligation.
• To ensure the security of the website and prevent misuse — Article 5(2)(f) of the KVKK (legitimate interest).

To whom are your data transferred?

Your data is not sold or shared for advertising purposes. It may only be shared with authorised public bodies and institutions in the event of a legal request. The website is hosted on the infrastructure of a cloud server service provider; should the server be located abroad, this transfer is carried out in accordance with the provisions of Article 9 of the KVKK. For texts to be published publicly on the website (such as news, announcements and obituaries), may, at the discretion of the site administration, be sent to a translation service provider (DeepL SE, Germany) for German and English translations. Information submitted via visitor forms (contact messages, directory entries, membership details) is not sent to this service.

How long is data retained?

Contact messages are deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period once the purpose has been fulfilled. Technical logs are retained for the period stipulated by the relevant legislation.

Your rights

In accordance with Article 11 of the Personal Data Protection Act (KVKK), you have the right to find out whether your data is being processed, to request information, to request that it be corrected or deleted, to object to its processing, and to claim compensation for any damage suffered.
